I got into filmmaking in 2003 when my uncle, a music executive, formed a bellydance troupe and needed someone cheap to swing a camera across their first US tour. Somewhere during the ensuing decade, I realised that editing is much less stressful and more gratifying than shooting. I still shoot, but my favourite thing really is the cycle of construction and reduction that unfurls here at my desk over a cup of tea.

News UK (2016-2017)
Social video for The Times, The Sunday Times, and The Sun. Stylised news, food, lifestyle and entertainment content for Facebook, YouTube and Snapchat channels.
Quite Frankly Productions (2008-2016)
Branded content for Nike, Coca Cola, Guinness, Johnnie Walker, Mclaren, Louis Vuitton, Burberry, Topshop and Omega. More than 100 films over seven years, ranging from 10-sec Instagram edits to 10-min documentaries, but mostly 3-5min promos for social channels.
Christie’s (2007-2018)
Aesthetically adventurous commercial art films, directed and produced by Triptick in London to accompany the auctions of high-profile works at Christie’s New York. 12 films so far, each about a particular work up for auction, including the most expensive painting ever sold at auction, Francis Bacon’s Three Studies of Lucian Freud, plus paintings and sculptures by Andy Warhol, Jeff Koons, Lucien Freud, Lucio Fontana, etc.

Countless broadcast news packages, including London 7/7 bombings, Russian spy poisoning, News of the World phone hacking scandal, etc. plus a diverse range of magazine-style segments for World Business Today, International Correspondents, Business Traveller, Art of Life, and Global Office.
BBC (2004-2005)
Interactive Red Button and social content for BBC1 series' The One Show, Great Whites Great Britain, and It Isn’t Easy Being Green, plus various “taster tapes” for internal series pitches.
Whitecoat Brand Films (2006-2016)

Samsung Galaxy - Over To You (2013)
60-sec homepage “manifesto video” by Cheil for the UK launch of the Galaxy S4 range of smartphones.

Shaking Dream Land (2006)
100-min HD feature by Eagle Films, now distributed by Lifesize Entertainment, starring Philip Winchester and Jesper Christensen. A controversial tale of pride and paedophilia in middle-England.

Monocle Magazine (2008-2011)
Short documentary commissions, at first for Monocle.com and later for Monocle’s weekly magazine show on Bloomberg. Aesthetically meticulous cultural briefings.
14 films over three years, shot in Taiwan, Korea, Switzerland, Italy, Finland, Sweden and the USA.
Better than Therapy - Living the Police Reunion (2008)
60-min feature documentary about the rebuilding of relationships as an ex-band reunites for a world stadium tour. Distributed on DVD by Universal Music.
Behind the Shimmy (2003)
My first proper film, a 50-min documentary in which a 19 year-old ponders the philosophy of entertainment, filmed on tour with US rock festival Lollapalooza. Starring The Bellydance Superstars, Incubus, Audioslave, Jane’s Addiction, Jurassic 5, The Music and The Mooney Suzuki. Bought and distributed by The Documentary Channel.
